  • TALON VENT
Kite Summary
Buy  £240

Latest addition to the Talon range, the Vent takes the bite out of stronger wind conditions.

Carefully developed over a year-long period, this version of the Talon features a more robust frame, focussed venting to exhaust pressure from the sail, and a very striking look.

The result is a tougher Talon in challenging conditions, less pull, slower and easier to handle.
All this without compromising trick performance or that familiar Talon feel.
  • Retains the flying characteristics of the Talon kites, but tailored towards the higher wind strengths, less pull and more control.
  • Tricks most commonly associated with stronger winds, such as Insanes & Rolling Cascades are sharper and more positive.
  • Careful weighting retains acceptable pitch performance without compromising other areas. Roll Bars are present for yoyo multi-wraps.
  • Yoyo stoppers are equipped with a slip-catch. If a line tries to slip off of the Roll Bar after a trick input, the catch will prevent this.
  • Leading-edge socket and yoyo stopper glides are reinforced like the other Talons, stiffer at the ULE glide due to larger socket.
  • The trailing edge is reinforced as per Talon STD, but leaves the TE open wing area clear of reinforcing to promote buzz/drag, slowing the kite.
  • Additional Mylar reinforcing at the Centre-T joint.
  • Adjustable leech line. By default the line is loose, adding noise and drag to slow the kite. For a quieter fly, the line can be tensioned.
  • Lower leading edge spar is the stiffer, tougher Skyshark Nitro 'Strong' spar. Stiffness reduces wingtip 'chatter' and is less prone to brerakage.
  • All venting panels are reinforced with Dacron adhesive tape for strength, creating a vivid graphic to complement an already striking design.
  • Panel 'D' vent is additionally reinforced on the back site of the kite due to its frequent contact with the ground.
  • Exposed stitching protected by tough 'Moonie Tape', preventing failure due to spine-rubbing.
  • Non-snag, 3-piece double layer nose construction.
  • Removable wing tips, and a 2-piece spine enable the kite to be packed down to less than 90cm.
The Vented Talon should be your last choice over the others in the range due to its target wind range and price.

However, its low wind performance is quite exceptional.
The cross-over between Ultra-Light & Vented is good.
